This is according to Hamid Majidimehr, head of the Quranic Affairs Center of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, who is on a visit to the holy city.

He said the preliminary round will be organized in December and the capital city of Tehran will host the final stage.

The final round of the international event will kick off on February 17, 2023, on the eve of Eid al-Mab’ath, which marks the anniversary of Muhammad (PBUH) to prophethood, he noted.

It will run in Tehran for four days, Majidimehr went on to say.

The Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization annually organizes the international Quran contest with the participation of Quran activists from various countries.

A total of 62 qaris and memorizers from 29 countries competed in the final stage of the 38th edition, which was held virtually in March.
